Croatia can be divided into three Climatic regions:

In the north are the Pannonian  plains, lowlands with a continental climate of cold winters and hot summers.

Central Croatia consists of the mountainous  Dinara Region, which is covered with large forests and has an alpine climate.

The Adriatic coast enjoys a Mediterranean climate of cool, rainy winters and hot, dry summers.

When is the best time to go to Croatia?

For a beach holiday the best time is between June and August, although the resorts are crowded with holiday-makers and prices  at  their  peak during the height of the season. Spring (April, May) and autumn (September, October) are pleasantly warm, sunny months on the coast and inland, ideal for sight-seeing or camping, but the sea will be a little chilly for bathing.
